Evolve Youth Awards Road Skills Half Term

Join us this half term for a fun, action-packed Road Skills session designed for riders who are ready to take their cycling to the next level!

Across the afternoon, riders will work in small groups with Evolve coaches, building confidence, bike handling and road awareness through a mix of skills, challenges and games. We’ll be developing things such as cornering, braking, gears, observation, group riding, with more advanced riders also getting the chance to work on race skills, sprinting and higher-level techniques.

This session is for riders in our Pedal, Rider Challenge and Advanced groups only. Riders should already be confident cycling independently, braking safely and controlling their bike around the track.

Pedal – Confident riders ready to develop gears, cornering, observation, one-handed riding and group riding. Riders in this group must have a bike with gears.

Rider Challenge – Riders comfortable using gears and road bikes who are ready to develop more technical skills, including climbing, descending and race-style cornering.

Advanced – Experienced riders ready for more challenging bike handling, sprinting, racing and advanced riding techniques.

Coaches may move riders between groups where appropriate to make sure everyone is challenged at the right level and can take part safely.
